CATCH 22… was doing mostly half day – fishing charters around the local NOOSA Fishing Grounds, the past few days… The Deep Sea Fishing has been quite good with plentiful catches off shiny mackerel, spotty mackerel and a few spanish as well on the floaters….. Mostly around Sunshine reef, Chardons and North reef. We haven’t had much luck catching mackerel in Laguna Bay as the bait fish seem to be further out on the local reefs and not congregating in the bay…..this week!!!!
North reef has produced the odd Goldband snapper and some nice squiry snapper……. Which are good to see this time of the year on our Offshore Fishing Charters, along with the usual sweet lip, moses perch, parrot and some big old MOWDOGS (Mowang) or otherwise known as slate bream…. These things are not the best to eat but are one of the best to catch….. And they fight like Mike Tyson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There has been a few small cobia around the bait schools taking live baits…… Gold spot cod and still some good quality coral trout on all reefs at the moment…. They are taking either live baits, good size fresh flesh baits or whole pilchards…. They haven’t been to picky and quite easy to catch over the last few weeks on our Noosa Fishing Charters aboard CATCH 22 with Deep Sea Fishing Co. Noosa.
